POSITION SUMMARY

The director of campaigns and strategic engagement will serve as a key leader within the advancement office, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising campaigns and fostering meaningful relationships with the School’s alumnae, parents, and other supporters. This role requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for engaging the Hewitt community to enhance philanthropic support and drive initiatives that align with the School’s mission and goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Campaign Strategy and Execution

  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of annual and multi-year fundraising campaigns, including capital campaigns and special initiatives
  • Develop campaign messaging and materials that effectively communicate the School’s vision, priorities, and impact on students and the community
  • Monitor campaign progress and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to strategies to achieve fundraising goals

Strategic Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with alumnae, current and former parents, and other key stakeholders to enhance engagement and support
  • Develop and implement strategies for donor recognition and stewardship, ensuring supporters feel valued and informed about the impact of their contributions
  • Recruit, train, and oversee volunteers to support fundraising and alumnae engagement efforts, including the establishment of a class representative program

Collaboration and Leadership

  • Work closely with the director of advancement and other team members to align fundraising strategies with overall advancement goals
  • Lead and mentor staff within the team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment
  • Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to ensure cohesive messaging and branding across all fundraising initiatives

Research and Analysis

  • Conduct research to identify potential new donors and fundraising sources and establish strategies for outreach and engagement
  • Analyze data on donor trends and campaign performance to inform future initiatives and improvements

Budget Management

  • Develop and manage budgets related to campaigns and engagement efforts, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Demonstrated commitment to anti-bias education and social justice
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, nonprofit management, or related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, campaign management, or donor relations, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting
  • Proven track record of successful campaign management and fundraising
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate the School’s mission and impact effectively
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems, along with a solid understanding of data analysis techniques
  • Strong organizational skills and impeccable attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

SALARY RANGE

Starting Salary Range: $130,000 to $145,000 (salary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience and expertise)
