Overview:

The Producer in the Office of the President manages and supports artistic programs, events, and new initiatives as assigned, with an emphasis on institutional milestones, annual celebrations, external partnerships, and guest artist residencies. The position reports to the Artistic Producer and Director for Creative Enterprise and works closely with the Office of the President team to develop systems and processes for seamless integration between new and existing programs. The position partners with departments and divisions throughout the institution and beyond to represent the priorities of the Office of the President and respond to the various needs of internal and external stakeholders. The Producer provides high-level administrative support to the Office of the President to facilitate departmental objectives and activities.

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000. The salary is based on a number of individualized factors, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, education, credentials, areas of specialization, and scope of experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Leads and advances projects, programs, and initiatives as assigned, working closely with the Artistic Producer and Director for Creative Enterprise and stakeholders across the School to successfully manage each project from conception to realization by developing and overseeing timelines, event briefings, and promotional materials, tracking project budgets, confirming project rosters, drafting talking points, and liaising with stakeholders and featured guests.
  • Works with the Artistic Producer and Director for Creative Enterprise and the Office of the President team to develop and produce institutional events, programs, and collaborations, including but not limited to commencement, convocation, annual festivals and celebrations, guest artist visits, external partnerships and residencies, visual art exhibits, and other programs and initiatives developed by the Office of the President. 
  • Develops and advances efficient administrative systems and processes within the Office of the President as well as across the School on projects and programs as assigned.
  • Partners closely with colleagues across the School to devise, systematize, and streamline processes that advance creative enterprise throughout the institution.
  • Liaises closely with colleagues across the School and partners from external organizations as a representative for the Office of the President to understand peer needs and respond to requests with diplomacy and efficiency.
  • Leads administrative efforts to ensure that creative enterprise promotional materials, including webpages and digital/physical files, are updated and maintained.
  • Works closely with the Office of the President team on administrative tasks and responsibilities as assigned to support the office.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the arts, humanities, arts administration, or another related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered as a substitute.

  • Experience producing complex events, performances, and programs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high volume environment; willing to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

  • Ability to work well independently to meet multiple, competing deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to establish relationships with the various constituencies.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing administrative systems and processes.
  • An enthusiastic and imaginative approach to developing projects and initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated sensitivity to the many needs of a fast-paced educational and performing arts community.

 

Preferred Background:

  • 3-5 years previous experience in project or event management with demonstrated ability as a producer and/or arts administrator.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in the wide-ranging and evolving fields of performing and visual arts with a foundation in classical music traditions; ability to read a music score a plus.
  • Creative curiosity and passion for advancing the performing arts field.
  • A sense of humor and can-do attitude.
