The Kabbalah Centre is a non-profit organization that makes the principles of Kabbalah understandable and relevant to everyday life. The Kabbalah Centre teachers provide students with spiritual tools based on Kabbalistic principles that students can then apply as they see fit to improve their own lives and by doing so, make the world better. The Centre was founded by Rav Yehuda Ashlag in 1922 and now spans the globe with brick-and-mortar locations in more than 40 cities as well as an extensive online presence.
Position Summary:
The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.
Essential Functions:
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and
summarizing account information
• Responsible for month-end general ledger reconciliation and analysis
• Maintain bank accounts by requesting disbursements and preparing monthly reconciliations
• Monitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investments
• Research and reconcile all discrepancies
• Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CFO
• Audit and verify documents
• Follow internal controls
• Complete data backups
• Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
• Supervise, coach, and direct AP, AR, and junior accountants as directed by the Controller
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have an Accounting degree and at least 4 years’ experience
• Must have experience in a supervisory role
• MBA or CPA certification PREFERRED but not required
• Experience in large Non for Profit
• Must have experience with an Enterprise Accounting Software, NetSuite is a plus
• Strong computer skills
• Accuracy in daily work and other projects
• Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
• Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other Pinkerton employees
• Ability to function as a team player
