Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

Internship position(s) for one, or two, candidate(s) to assist in the implementation of various departmental and interdepartmental initiatives with the overall goal to streamline organizational operations in which the Legal Department is a stakeholder. The Legal Intern will also be an instrumental part of  research assignments ranging across many legal matters including, but not limited to, transactions, compliance, corporate governance, and litigation. There will be some light administrative duties related to these projects.

To be considered, you must be a prospective or enrolled law student. The Internship program will begin on June 3rd and end on August 2nd. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research and compile a current list of staff facing Trinity policies, and recommend a Compliance Program, not limited to internal policies, for Trinity’s various business units/depts.

• Research Facilities duties, and conduct walkthrough/risk assessment of sidewalks, grounds and Facilities.

• Support audit of Trinity’s intellectual property.

• Support the Legal Department’s Knowledge Management/Enterprise Content Management working group.

• Assist with updating Trinity’s corporate ownership chart.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ACTIVITIES

An interest in the law and public service. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites & Adobe PDF. Ability to identify obstacles and recommend solutions. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Excellent communication and writing skills. 

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree (including current college seniors graduating in 2024)

• Law school student (including those entering law school in the Fall of 2024)
