This position provides essential administrative support and analytical research skills to two major gift officers in the Capital Gifts & Special Initiatives (CGSI) team and to a Planned Giving Officer in the Planned Giving & Endowments Department (PG&E).

Capital Gifts and Special Initiatives (CG&SI) presents opportunities for donors to make designated gifts for brick-and-mortar projects, programmatic endowments, and targeted initiatives focused on strategic initiatives.

The Planned Giving & Endowments (PG&E) department works with individual donors to create planned gifts that meet their philanthropic and financial objectives in support of UJA’s mission.

Major Responsibilities in CGSI:

  • Oversee aspects of Community Initiative for Holocaust Survivor Coffeehouses including liaising with marketing and communications, catering manager, security, colleagues and external partners.
  • Assist with department fundraising materials for internal and external meetings, events, volunteer opportunities and site visits.
  • Support director as needed in everyday tasks, managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and communicating with major donors.
  • Prepare weekly team check-in materials and ensure follow-up through task-oriented note taking.
  • Research donor engagement opportunities and services within UJA-Federation network of organizations.

Major Responsibilities in PG&E:

  • Assist with aspects of Legacy Recognition Events, and Heritage Society Events, including working with the conference center for catering needs and M&C for marketing needs.
  • Coordinate with annual fundraising teams to identify and provide legacy pins for relevant events.
  • Track gifts in UJA’s CRM including all moves and communications in FR101.
  • Draft, compile and send individualized Endowments and Trust reports to donors.
  • Assist in PG&E’s checkbox strategy, by coordinating follow-up.
  • Process PG&E’s internal purchasing through COUPA system.

General Responsibilities:

  • Draft UJA in Brief blurbs for both CGSI and PG&E, as well as CIHS acknowledgments for CGSI.
  • Balance priorities between two departments and multiple professionals.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Comfortable using technology and learning new databases
  • Able to work on projects independently while also working as part of a team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Positive work ethic, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, effective time manager, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in an extremely fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to build relationships with diverse professionals
  • Knowledge of UJA work and network of organization is a plus
  • Flexibility to work at events and programs when required, which may be outside of normal business hours

The salary for this position is $50,000 annually.

TIME OFF

We offer a generous number of vacation days and have the Jewish holidays off as well. Fridays our offices close early (October to March at 3:00 pm and April to September at 4:00 pm). All so you can relax and recharge.
