POSITION OVERVIEW

The Provider Wellness program assistant provides clerical and planning support to the Provider Wellness initiative, a supplemental Medicaid benefit for home-based daycare providers, funded by the New York State Department of Health and exclusively operated by the United Federation of Teachers in New York City. The program assistant requires the ability to multitask, a familiarity with basic office procedures, and strong interpersonal skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Inbound/Outbound Calls

•Responds and/or forwards emails.

•Inform providers of new products, services and policies.

•Guide providers through troubleshooting, navigating the site and/or using the products orservices.

•Engaging in active listening with providers, confirming or clarifying information anddiffusing angry clients, as needed.

•Building lasting relationships with providers based on trust and reliability.

•Schedules appointments and meetings for staff.

•Understanding and striving to meet or exceed metrics while providing excellent consistentcustomer service.

•Collaborates with other departments to improve customer service.

•Support Chapter Chair – Family Child Care Providers in putting on in-person special events

•Occasional flexible hours (outside standard work hours) and/or overtime required

•Adhering to all company policies and procedures.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

•Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.

• Is proficient in the use of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point.

• Demonstrates familiarity with basic office equipment such as fax machines and intercom systems.

• Possesses excellent phone etiquette.

• Demonstrates knowledge of proper compositional practices to aid in writing and proofreading.

• Is capable of multitasking efficiently on a regular basis.

• Demonstrates ability to think creatively to assist in special event planning and marketing.

• Is capable of leaving the office to run errands throughout the day.

• Demonstrates excellent time-management skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED is required.

• An Associate’s Degree in Business or a related field is preferred.
