JOB TITLE: NYCC Case Manager

REPORTS TO: Program Director

Position Summary The Full-time Case Manager will lead WAW’s New York Community Center’s (NYCC’s) case management services while overseeing the WAW’s Case Workers, Legal Advisor(s), and will report directly to WAW’s Program Director. The Case Manager will collaborate with NYCC staff and external organizations and agencies to ensure that all clients receive adequate services and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Case Workers to ensure their work is accurate, timely and duly complete.
  • Prepare internal and external monthly reports about casework activities.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies for programming and service delivery.
  • Act as liaison with other programs and departments in NYCC.
  • Ensure all client information into WAW’s database are entered in a timely manner
  • Maintain and analyze program data to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our casework.
  • Responsible for ensuring database entries are correct and up to date.
  • Ensure detailed client records are maintained.
  • Ensure that clients are accompanied to social service agencies (e.g., welfare centers, SSI centers), hospitals and other medical facilities, as needed.
  • Ensure clients in need are referred to appropriate organizations for additional services.
  • Manage in developing cases for clients required to appear at fair hearings
  • Seek opportunities to partner and collaborate with organizations in the NYC area to maximize the resources of the NYCC
  • Conduct safety planning with domestic violence survivors and assist them in obtaining safe shelter while their case is being processed.
  • File USCIS forms for clients facing language barriers/ Translate on behalf of clients.
  • Ensure the hard copy of clients’ case files are updated and securely stored.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen the capacity of the team.
  • Any other related work as requested by supervisor.

Organizational Responsibilities

  • Serve as a spokesperson on behalf of WAW at various programs, meetings, and functions when approved by the program director and/or executive director.
  • Translate for participants at monthly Women Circle sessions and other programs as needed.
  • Help with the community outreach and other events when needed.
  • Stay informed and updated about WAW’s programs in Afghanistan
