Yonkers Partners in Education (YPIE) is a nonprofit organization located in Yonkers, NY who partners with students to ensure they are ready for, enroll in, and complete college. We confront the challenges of a low-income, urban school district by providing families with equitable access to the critical tools and services necessary for college success.

Job Mission:

The Manager, Operations supports the managing of YPIE’s operations, day-to-day logistics, and maintaining our after-school space, the YPIE College Zone.

Position Responsibilities:

College Zone/Space Management

Manage YPIE College Zone and YPIE office spaces:

  • Create environment that supports a welcoming, academic, and professional culture
  • Serve as the person ‘directing traffic’ for staff, students, and volunteers in service of achieving student success
  • Manage the physical space, including coordinating schedule of room use and organization and upkeep of supplies and rooms
  • Coordinate student supplies and device check-outs (computers, calculators, etc.)
  • Manage snack system, including maintaining day-to-day partnership with external food resources
  • Complete space Daily Opening and Closing Checklists
  • Manage student token and reward system (Scholar Dollars, Swag Store)
  • Manage student notification system (send reminders to students and families about upcoming events, send attendance notifications to families regarding after-school attendance)
  • Coordinate work study intern schedules and day-to-day tasks

Program Management

  • Support programmatic events including: student symposia, career fair, new student orientation and induction, FAFSA and college applications events, community events, support with volunteer events, and other special events and programs
  • Support staff in setting up school-based college offices
  • Coordinate student attendance, track event/programmatic attendance, follow-up with students
  • Connect both students and staff with the information/resources/materials they need to execute programming
  • Support creation of program tools/assets/materials (flyers, Google forms, surveys, etc.)
  • Support supply ordering and distribution to staff and students
  • Support maintenance of data systems

Strong Applicants will possess

  • Attention to detail
  • Proven organizational and program tracking skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • An outcomes-focused orientation
  • Experience with and commitment to ensuring equity for a diverse population of students
  • Flexible; able to roll with the punches
  • Ability to make arrangements for daily travel/transitions between program sites
  • Flexibility to work some evening and weekend hours as student needs arise
  • Ability to see the big picture and sweat the small stuff at the same time
  • Ability to create good systems & willingness to execute existing systems/processes 
  • Experience with Google platform and comfortable with technology
  • Spanish fluency a plus
